The first Friday of every March is designated as National Dress in Blue Day to raise awareness about the causes of colon cancer.

National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month is an annual observance in March to educate people about colorectal cancer, or CRC, considered to be the second deadliest cancer in the United States. The focus is on early intervention and encouraging more people to get checked starting at age 45.

President Joseph Biden proclaimed March 2023 as National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month to encourage all citizens, government agencies, private businesses, non-profit organizations, and other groups to increase awareness and prevention of colorectal cancer.
