Did You Know? Mental Illness Awareness Week is October 4th – 10th
Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) is observed every year during the first full week of October to promote community outreach and education concerning mental illnesses such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. MIAW was established in 1990 by the U.S. Congress to recognize the work of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to educate and increase awareness about mental illness.
